I'm actually just using it to check the exact kind of bulb my headlights take, but every time I've pulled out this manual, pain, swearing and mild lacerations haven't been far behind.

And yes, that includes the time me and a friend changed one of the rear bulbs.

I just use this site. Even if I don't buy the bulbs or wipers from them.

H4, by the looks of things. I've been on the original bulbs - that is, the bulbs that were in there when I bought it secondhand - for two years.

Ah, that's handy; I'll probably use it in future. There's something quite viscerally satisfying about - quite literally, in my case - dusting off an old Haynes manual, though.

At the center of Hell, Judas is gnawed on eternally by satan. As his back is clawed upon rending his flesh on the outside, inside he is reading a Haynes repair manual while trying to change drum brake pads.

replace both of them with 130/90W bulbs if you do night driving , they'll give you a good range

I like how when you hover the cursor over the bulb it illuminated the relevant place on the car.

But ye', there is something quite satisfying about holding a book or how to fix a car.

When the time comes to refresh the rear drums, I'm either taking it to a garage, or buying a new car.

There's some front fogs for 106 (93-03) for about £40 on eBay. The Cibie ones on that 205 are a bit more expensive at £60 each though. Just looked at some nice 205 s on eBay (I'm trying to force myself not to look at carandclassic.co.uk as I'd be there for ours).

I usually just go the lazy route and remove the old bulb, take it to the shop and look for one that matches.

Ah, yes, the Car and Classic binge. Always a good way to waste an hour or four, that.

As it turns out, the bulb type's listed on the the panel you have to twist off to get to the thing. Handy, that. Anyway, operation complete:

It's broken. Doesn't include an FTO.

I have one of these for my Tipo, and it's actually pretty good :p

Then again, you can unbolt all the lights before switching the bulbs, so... yeah.

That's not a bad idea. Last bulb I changed was on a Renault Laguna. Required dissassembling most of the front of the car and pretty much skinning my hands.

All I had to do was twist off the back panel, disconnect the wire, release the retaining clip, and swap the bulb. One side was ridiculously easy, but the other had a slightly stuck retaining clip, so I had to do a decent bit of prying with some pliers.

If I actually wanted to replace the whole unit, I'm fairly sure I'd have to take the bumper off.
